Firewall Policy Engineer (Contract)

Location: Cambridge Country: UK Rate: £280 - £320 per day
 

Firewall Policy Engineer x2

+ Location: Cambridge (Fully on site)
+ Duration: 6 months
+ Rate: £280 - £320 Per Day
+ IR35 Status: Outside

The role:

  • Review current policies on each Firewall and record findings, paying attention to unused or shadowed rules.
  • Review objects and eliminate duplicates.
  • Apply Arm naming standard to Firewall objects.
  • Liaise with service owners to determine status of findings and determine next actions.
  • Plan improvements to policies.
  • Raise change controls as appropriate and implement changes to policies.
  • Configuration standards are applied to all policies. (Standards already exist)
  • Policies are applied to Firewalls and verified as working

Skills and Experience:

  • Cisco FMC V7 or above.
  • Working with large rule sets using the FMC.
  • Firewall policy implementation and optimisation.
  • Troubleshooting Firewall Configurations if needed

Skills

  • Liaise with people at all levels of a company.
  • Documentation

For the most part the person will be just tidying up rulesets, we have engineers and consultants who have already defined the rules structure, objects and rules etc so this is about removing unused ones.
