Financial Reporting Consultant - Limerick (Contract)

Financial Reporting Consultant - Limerick

Gibbs Hybrid are looking for a qualified Accountant that has done financial reporting and has experience in preparing & reviewing financial statements. You will be supporting a Finance client in Limerick. 3 days onsite and 2 days remote working.
You will be responsible for identifying and interpreting changes to accounting standards and regulations that will impact the client allocation within the department, as well as liaising with external audit firms to develop solutions regarding the impact of such changes. The Financial Reporting Consultant will be responsible in assisting with the review of financial statements across the department in addition to identifying and implementing best practice across teams.
Responsible for the reviewing and delivery of financial statements where required to ensure they are compliant with current accounting and regulatory requirements.
Become the primary point of contact with each of the our associated Audit Firms, work closely with the Audit Firms and facilitate technical briefs and updates for the department, thereby keeping abreast of industry and regulatory developments.
Liaise with Compliance and other relevant internal stakeholders where required.

ESSENTIAL:

o Must have proven experience in the investment management industry acquired through working in the fund administration, asset management or securities operations industry or audit industry.
o Financial reporting experience preferred.
o Demonstrated leadership and team-building qualities and ability to motivate a team.
o Strong communication, first class presentation and internal and external client-servicing skills.
o Evidence of successful negotiation skills
o Detailed knowledge of both onshore and offshore funds administration. In particular Irish/UK GAAP and IFRS experience.
o Working knowledge of the Irish regulatory regime as it relates to Fund Accounting and Financial Reporting.
o Knowledge of the leading Fund Accounting and Financial Reporting systems. Experience with vendors preferred (Bloomberg, Reuters etc.).
o Understanding of how Fund Accounting systems link and interface to other systems.
